Or rather, I'm beginning to recall why I hate freelancing/contracting.
I've got enough money to live on for 6 months, if I'm careful, but I'm already starting to panic about not being employed. It's ridiculous, I know, especially given that I've never been out of work in my life, but still, there's this big part of me that needs security, that needs to know I'm covered. Why I don't save money while I'm working, to cover times like tis, is a whole other question, of course :)

So the whole "Sit around for a few months and relax" thing isn't going to happen, I think, unless I know I have a new job to go to in Feb, which means looking now. Sigh. And Venice is just going to stress me out more if I have to watch the pennies.

So, off to Circus Oz I go ASAP, I think, to see if they're hiring.

Someone hire me, eh?

Darlin...

The best recruiters I've found so far have all been posting to here and its no where near a commercial-ad-based site as Seek, Career one and all those (but it still got the same or similar jobs).

Also got a couple of good recruiters (contract and other) who are doing me good. Drop me a line if you want me to forward over the details for those companies).

How do you feel about working from Brunswick? Possibly with Thorfy as well.

All dependant on interviews and so forth and meeting with the boss-dudes etc.

Oh, that could work.
You guys do web portal foo, yes?

I imagine there's less scope for me to use my exprtise in education stuff, but hey, that's ok.

Um. Yeah, subject to all that, and in an ideal world of course, I'd be working 4 days a week (for 4/5ths of all the usual entitlements), and starting March 1st. If that sounds like a goer, then yeah, absolutely.

I should put a CV together, I guess. Heavy on the mod_perl for you guys, yes?

Yeah, not so much use for the education stuff.

The rest of it sounds doable, but I'm not the one who'd be deciding. I'm not even sure how many new programmers we're looking for.

But yes, put a CV together if you're interested. You probably won't be looking at getting much response until the new year though.

And yes. Heavy on the mod_perl stuff and portal-fu. OO Perl also. And databases. And system admin. And network sodding-around-with (is there a verb for that?)

hmm... i can see you needing a bigger office - or finding a way to turn the beer fridge room into the server room - so you have an office without two
racks in it
