So.
This is more idle speculation. MY line manager reads my LJ - I should start by stressing that I'm not looking for another job just yet. The software industry is all the same - I'd be swapping this set of tediums for another set, just as bad, so fuck it - there are upsides to where I am, and the temptation to go somewhere New! and Exciting! just isn't enough.
But.
If I weren't a computer programmer, what should I be? I'm not, necessarily, looking for serious suggestions, just things to provoke thought, or laughter. What should I do with my life, if I weren't a geek?
Hardware counts - as I said today, I don't get paid to do hardware, so "evil roboticist" or "Dr CyberMoreau" are valid suggestions, except that I've already thought of them.
Rackstar Game Designer is right up there, too, and I must get off my slack arse and work towards it....

Too late to change now, though. Don't have the sort of health that'd let me get out into the field.

Oh wait... that won't be possible until a couple of weeks from now.
How about just Pirate Roberts in the meantime?
