Now *that's* a workout.
Mar. 7th, 2004 12:07 amGym again today, to make up for not going much last week, and for not eating as well as I should recently. 4 & 4 on the circuits - go me. But again, even though on the last set of each I pushed for a few extra jumps/pushups/reps/whatever, still don't think I push myself as hard as Ambrose does. Which is what I pay him for. So I did weights as well - 14/14/7 @40 lb of the dumbell presses - which is pretty good - on Thursday I did 14/14/14, I think, but I hadn't just done the circuits. And today I did 3 x 14 of the lat pulldowns at 110, and the tricep pulldowns @ 60 lb, which is my target, and it's getting easier. And, to top that off I did 20 minutes on the exercise bike. Damn boring cardio.
In other bike news, I somehow buckled the back wheel last night, and had to push it home from the city. Took it to the bike shop this morning, and they said "Yep, that's pretty stuffed". So, it's in the shop awaiting a new back wheel, which should happen Wednesday. But having the pushbike repaired is a *joy* after having motorbikes repaired.
"What's the ballpark for a new wheel?"
"Oh, about $50."
I think I'll cope. Possibly even lash out on an $80 wheel, if that buys me greater resistance to buckling. Which I assume it does. So yeah, if you don't insist on parts hand-spun from Unobtainium by magic bicycle elves, it's all rather cheap.
And I rode the motorcycle tonight. *Gasp*. And it was fun, even if the weather sucked. Feeling good about taking it to Canberra over Easter now. Biggest news was that not only can I now bend over to do up my boots, but my bike jacket fits again! Huzzah.
Right. Bedtime. See you all at frisbee!

What's
Date: 2004-03-06 08:06 pm (UTC)My jeans now need a belt or they fall down. Now, when my black slacks reach that point, I'll be really happy.

Date: 2004-03-07 03:05 pm (UTC)I wasn't aware anything was on. But every now and then I need to go to Canberra, to feed what remains of my addiction. Mostly, I'm going to catch up with barbra and to remind myself of how mind-numbingly boring it is.
