  They're from Swear , and there's a story there.... I won, a while back, a gift voucher as a door prize at Revelations, from Swear. But, uh, none of it looked *quite* my style..... So I gave the voucher to bunnikins, and a couple of months later we went shoe shopping. She found a great pair of boots, and I actually found a pair of sneakers - but *cool* sneakers, honest! Gothic Industrial sneakers, truly, for riding the new pushbike. But they didn't have quite my size, so I had to order them in. They eventually arrived, just before Christmas, and we trekked out to Prahran to pick them up. And when we got to the shop, bunnikins saw these boots, and said "Hey. They look like Jai boots.". And they did. Turns out, someone ordered them in specially, and then didn't want them, so not only are they *mine*, as a fabulous Christmas PResent from bunnikins, but they're the only pair in Australia, at the moment. Huzzah!

  And it's up and running streaming the MP3s already - I'll almost certainly take it into work and replace the Beige G3 currently doing MP3 duty - the Alpha is a leetle faster, I think, and it'll be nice to have a dedicated box.
  

Graphicy Goodness Update
So I have the new graphics card, and yea verily, stuff rocks, but I've blown my holidays playing ... Deus Ex. Deus Ex 1, yet. People have raved about it before, but I never got around to playing it until a couple of weeks ago. Oh. My. It seriously rocks. *That's* gameplay - it has everything you could possibly want. No spoilers here, but if you haven't played it yet, do. And apparently Deus Ex II is a disappointment, but then it's a damn hard act to follow!

Cool. Alphas are nice machines. The only Alpha kit I've got around here is an old Multia, but I've got a cluster at work. The ES47s seem to be winning the CPU grunt competition, flogging the living shit out of the Sun machines.
