... and I've got a problem.

When [livejournal.com profile] bunnikins was letting me take hardware home, I was able to hide the extent of it. I could kid myself that it was under control - I could keep it in the computer room, and keep my "real" life seperate. I wasn't addicted - I didn't *need* new hardware, it was just fun to play with. Right?

The first danger sign, of course, is when those you love suggest that you might have a problem. At that point, you either seek help, or you start to hide things. So the powermac 7200 (heck, UniMelb were *giving* them away) became the third computer on my desk at work. It's for testing browser compatibility across a broad range of platforms. Honest. And it's a bit old and slow, so the beige G3 arriving today is so I can run Mac OSX (albeit slowly) for an even broader range. Honest. And I *probably* won't buy the Mac laptop my workmate is selling, but it's cheap(ish), I have a tax return coming in, and, well, I always wanted to be a Mac weenie. It's not addiction, I'm just broadening my horizons beyond the narrow world of Intel.

Honest.

I can stop anytime I want. But we really need a decent printer....

That's what I was doing? Suggesting? I thought it was accusation, but there you go. Oh, and you can have all the hardware you want if you keep it at work:)

Quick print that out, you may need to use it later.

I've been telling myself that for years.

But we really need a decent printer....

Might be able to sort that out tomorrow.
Either an old HP LaserJet, or an Apple Laserwriter of some sort.

Mmm.

Do we have any games for it? Or are you just going to set it up and sit in front of it worshipfully? :)

We're going to be very nice to [livejournal.com profile] punctured_lung.
He might lend us Tetris world.

I'm already nice to him. You, on the other hand, tried to walk off with his entire DVD collection last night. Maybe he'll lend me Tetris World. :D

Mmm.

Well, we know where he lives.
You could go over and burgle him this afternoon. Then we'd never have to give them back!

That's your idea of being nice to somebody?
Better buy your own copy of the game, then.

Woohoo!

Did you know you can play the games for these things on a PC? The discs are readable in a standard DVDrom drive.
