So I'm trying to find a song, from, oh, 15 years ago. Sydney band, part of me wants to say the Clouds, but most of me thinks that's close-but-wrong. Song was probably called "Locket" or possibly "Lock it" (being a cunning pun, you see). Lyrics start:

"I gave you a necklace of purple and blue, you took it so gently I felt see-through"...

A couple, at a party, boy meets girl, etc. Memorable line: "Christ, I really like you". chorus along the lines of "Take it ome, lock it up". I dunno.

May have made a very early triple J hot 100, back around 1992.

Anyone? Beuller?

ETA: Oh intarwebs, I love you. "Lock It", by the Falling Joys. Now, do any of you know where I can acquire a recording of said?

Locket, Falling Joys. It was David and my "song".

Loved it.

Clouds were awesome but more raucous than this.

Well done! The intarwebs came through once I searched triple Js hottest 100 archives, but it's nice to have an answer from friends :) You don't happen to know where I can get my hands on a copy, do you? It is a beautiful song.

Drop [livejournal.com profile] iki_maska a line, he's got the most comprehensive set of independent local music I can think of.

I have a copy in my itunes which means it's probably in my record/cd/cassette collection. Or Tim's. I can probably send you a copy if you like? Email me at golora at circavintageclothing dot com dot au and it shall be on it's way.

Update: must be Tim's. I was living in the UK in '92 and didn't buy any local music.

www.gemmm.comhas quite a few Falling Joys albums and singles available. It's a marketplace site that a few different specialist music stores put items on.

I have a copy of the single somewhere, coloured vinyl and it has a postard in the sleeve as well. No turntable in the house, mind.

Слышу голос из Прекрасного Далека
Он зовет меня в прекрасные края
Слышу голос голос спрашивает строго
А сегодня что для завтра сделал я
