These will be coming out at the start of every month. they won't be filtered - there is no gym filter what with the separate blog and all.

So I've been lifting 3 days a week, and doing Boot Camp twice a week. And fitting in the Hundred Pushups Challenge as well.

I've dropped one, maybe 2 belt holes. The shoulders, they begin to take form. I did 78 pushups today. I can do 3 pullups on the straps. I ran Boot Camp Hill 30 seconds faster this month than last month.

You probably want more detail, but that's all at the blog you may or may not subscribe to. The overall report is, looking slimmer, eating better, feeling great.

On Sunday I start a new weights routine, heavier weights, fewer reps, which is good. I compromised on 3x12, but Ji-the-Oplympic-Silver-Medallist says "Don't bother. Anything over 10 is past the sweet spot. Warmup set, then 2 solid sets of 8, pretty much to failure". Which is more in line with my personal feelings on the matter. And he's big on the classics - squats, rows, bench presses, kettlebell lifts.

Next month there will be measurements, I promise. And soon, yes soon, there will be photos.

Today I was the only person who came to boot camp, so I had the pleasure of an hour-long one-on-one training session with a tiny little Greek woman who was determined to kill me. I have discovered that all of the things we normally do during boot camp are considerably harder to do while holding a couple of 10 lb. weights, except various forms of sit-ups, which are harder to do while holding a medicine ball over your head.

My boot camp instructor did such a thorough job that my arm nearly collapsed under me during side plank in yoga this evening.

Every time that I pat myself on the back for making progress, a new and tougher routine humbles me.

Ooof, yes. Those even newer than I to our boot camp tend to say things like "Carrying a tyre while I jog? That sounds ok. Wait. *Above* my head??".

New routines humbling you is the inspiring bit, though :) My baby angel inspires me a lot more than my real angels, because she *works* for every roll, every planche, every stitz. So the 5th roll alway makes me cheer. One day the 5th will be easy, and the 6th will make me cheer. Roman just does them. And then tops them off with an Iron Cross. Which is impressive as all hell, and maybe awe-inspiring, but that's a little different.

78 pushups??? OMG!!! *bows down and worships* that's just insane. On a really good day I manage 15 before my muscles will no longer lift me up. Good for you. Can't wait to see the pics. What was the impetus behind starting the boot camp and intense training?

That's 78 in sets - today's split was 15/15/12/12/24. My single set max is about 35.

There's nothing like working with a whole lot of elite circus performers to make you realise what a fabulous thing a well honed body is, and just how far from well honed your own is.

I'll never be a straps artist, but I'd like to learn a new trick or two.
