Looks like the rabbit gets a chainsaw after all....

A local mowing franchise have just quoted us $1200 to remove the wisteria from our back courtyard.
Now granted, it's the wisteria from hell, but $1200?
12 hours work for two people, they reckon.
I reckon an enthusiastic rabbit with a chainsaw could do it in a day, for no more payment than the chainsaw itself. So sod it, this weekend is hack-and-slash weekend.
Anyone who wants to drop around with secateurs, pruning hooks, saws or napalm welcome. BYO gloves.

(I should point out, before people actually drop over, that this has been superseded by my next post. If you drop over this weekend with gardening equipment, we'll look at you funny and send you home)

*Does* anyone have a chainsaw?
Buying one for this purpose seems extreme.
(Update: Now that I'm home, the wisteria is in fact more intense than I remembered. And $400 of the quote is for removal, which I suspect isn't going to get any cheaper. So, fuckit, I'll see if the landlord is interested in going halves, and just pay the damn thing.)
