Part of the joy of my work is the exciting challenges that fresh jobs offer. Even a tent I've built before becomes a whole new experience in a new place, especially, say, in a carpark, with space constraints. So if you ever happen to put a circus tent up in a carpark, and realise once you get one king pole up that the guys aren't going to clear the side wall, keep your fucking mouth shut, rather than saying, glibly, "Eh, let's move the tent a metre that way".

Oy. We did try rigging spars to raise the anchor points for the guys, and a couple of other easy fixes, but take it from me, if you have to double handle part of a circus tent, the king poles are *last* on the list of favourites.

Still. The riverbank of my adopted home town is now littered with tents, filled with puppets, and tumblers, and clowns. And I built them.

There are worse ways to earn a buck ....

All that work you did is worth it, trust me. The look on my daughters face at the circus for the first time ever last night was simply awesome and without the tent it never would have happened. Computers dont make her scream with delight so keep up the good work.

See, *that's* what it's all about.

So this weekend we built a tent for the puppet festival. Check it out - there's stuff for kids, stuff for adults.

Aw. I'm so glad she had a good time. I love Circus Oz, and especially now they're in the Big Top. My big top :)
