What *is* a podger?

Feel free to answer with what a podger *should* be, if you'd rather.

A podger, of course, is a Polish badger. That is, a rather garlicky, pogromish, vodka-addled badger with a penchant for borscht and pierogi. Podgers usually go by the names Magda, Hania, Frania and Czeslawa.

It's a piece of wadded up bread you use to wipe your plate clean after a really good saucy meal or stew.
