In case any of you were wondering what I ultimately want to do with the foundry/machine shop, if I could turn out stuff like this, I'd be pretty happy. Though I'd want them to have wheels and actually go places.

two words : artistic welding.

imo, some of the best and most creative sculpture of the last fifty years has been made by sweaty men with blowtorches.

(and should you procure said foundry, i'll be right in there making more of it, after consuming a lot of vb, buying a pair of blue jeans and getting a gender reassignment.)

Oh, it's a when, not an if, believe you me. In fact, I'm seriously thinking of selling my soul back to IT so I can afford it and a shed to keep it in.

And no gender reassignment necessary - I know watching _Hardware_ at a young and impressionable age has left me with a hard-wired erotic response to chicks with blowtorches, and I suspect the same can be said of many guys.
