The best thing about that is that it means it'll have "car" as a nickname. "Just heading out for a quick spin in the Car" - followed immediately by the roar of your bike screaming through the living room...
" ... your bike screaming through the living room." Apparently I'm not allowed to ride them in the living room. If I did, there'd be lots of screaming, though ;) But yeah, I hadn't realised I was getting a bike and a Car in one easy package!
Good luck to rabbit with her bike riding exploits. I'd never thought of it before but the Spada is very similar to a Ducati. Ducati's have such a lovely sound to them though. Probably the best sounding bike around. *sigh* -- n4cat
Oh, absolutely. That's no accident - the Spada bodywork was designed by an Italian company - I believe they've also done work for Ducati. And yeah - it looks like it should grow up to be a Monster.
Mmmm, V-twin exhaust notes. Mmm. Shame about the Ducat valve rattle, but you can't have everything.

That bad, huh? Is it the money, or the missus, or both?
A bit of both. Mrs Cat will work herself into a state of ...well... a very worried thing.. if I get a bike again, but she has put up with it before as that was our only transport when we were first married. plus I can't afford to insure the damn thing let alone purchase one. To get over this I might buy one in bits and put it together slowly. I have no idea what though. Suggestions? Used to get some great custom jobs built around the old honda inline four. -- n4cat
Oh yeah. You can still probably pick up the CB750-4 engines for next to nothing, and they did look good in a chopper frame :) My plan for a cheap frankenbike, once I get a garage, is to go to wreckers and grab one that's been crashed and has a good donk, and one with a blown donk and good frame. I assume this trick is not new to you :) Then you just have to persuade Mrs Cat that it's a vital part of your parenting responsibilities :) Actually, once the baby cats are a little older, there are worse ways of keeping them busy, entertained and educated than letting them wrench bikes. I wish I'd spent a lot more time doing it as a kid.
It's sitting in sharkey's garage, leaking quietly to itself. We're actually going to pull it to bits (even more) this weekend, in fact. See if the frame is any good - I suspect the subframe is bent and the main frame cracked, so I'm probably in the market for a Norton featherbed frame, or a chopper, depending on my mood. That's assuming the engine and bits of gear are salvageable, which they probably are.
