RAM, RAM, my kingdom for some RAM!
Aug. 29th, 2003 09:56 pmSo if you want the Beige G3s to recognise a 256Meg PC133 RAM stick, it has to be doublesided.
Which is not as odd as it sounds. The PC I took 256 Meg doublesided RAM out of to put in the Beige G# also, apparently, needs doublesided :)
The cheapest I can find doublesided 256Meg PC133 sticks, new, is $109.
I can find *singlesided* sticks, which work fine in most modern motherboards, for $70.
So I'm prepared to swap new shiny singlesided sticks for old doublesided sticks, subject to them both working ok in new target machines :)
This may interest you if you have a newer motherboard that has had old RAM transplanted from an old machine, or, apparently, a ~2000 motherboard with ~1999 RAM, which may be the same thing to you, of course :)
