The fact that our maid comes on our shared day off makes sense - some people give their maid keys, but we're a little awkward with that. Why on earth she feels the need to come at 9.30 AM on my one day off I have no idea.
Today we buy a guest bed, possibly 2. August is awfully full of guests. If you want to book our guest bed, let me know. Currently, August and most of October are right out.
Soft opening next week. Gala premiere 4 weeks after that. Eesh.

Jul. 21st, 2008 09:53 amSo while I think about the sleeves and back, I have clarified my next tattoo plan. I spoke a while back about rewarding myself, after a year as a fulltime rigger, with a clove hitch tattoo. It's about that time. But I'm keeping the sleeves for other things, now, so I'm getting a clove hitch on one wrist, and a reef knot on the other, right about where the thumb would be when clasping opposite wrists. If that makes sense. I can still work the text in - "Harsh" on the right wrist, "Mistress" on the left. And the rope-on-wrist tattoo is apparently a traditional one for sailors, though fallen out of fashion. I'll stop short of having "Hold Fast" tattooed on my knuckles - there are very few ways to tastefully tattoo words on your fingers. But that's very much the intent of the tattoos, they are charms, partly against falling, but more against dropping, in my line of work.
I'm just wondering about the color of rope, really. Is red too gaudy? Does black lose too much detail?
Though I guess red and black would be perfect.
Apropos of which, if you live in Melbourne and get tattoos, where do you go, and who do you recommend?
ETA: I went straight to Tattoo Magic's site, and they have 2 tattooists who may have spare time in December. One of whom seems to have an appropriate style ..... We like synchronicity.
