More gaps ....
Feb. 6th, 2006 06:08 pmThe title for this was going to be a reference to Babydoll:
( I don't know about your brain- but mine is really bossy.
I come home from a day on the golf course and I find all these messages scribbled on wrinkled up scraps of paper And they say things like: Why don't you get a real job? more on that later ....)
Guess what's not in my CD collection?? Now I *swear*, at the very least, I own _Big Science_, which would do in a pinch, but apparently, not so much. I have to settle for Home of the Brave. Which is ... not the same. _Sharkey's Night_ notwithstanding. _Strange Angels_ I can live without, except for Babydoll, but _Big Science_, man! *sigh*
And I bought a couple of PIL albums recently, which seem to have vanished before I can even listen to them. Wierd, I tell you. They'll come back - they always do - but why can I never find the CDs I actually *want* to listen to?
Anyway. Real job. There's something about being able to look at what you've built at the end of a day and say, quantifiably, "Yup, good days work". It's worth being a little tired, a little grimy, a little scarred from weld spatter :) I'm drinking more beer, but that's ok - I'm getting more stuff done, playing less Warcrack :) Yesterday was, for a variety of reasons, the perfect day, and it wasn't even anything special - tinkering with the Spada (which now runs, albeit roughly - I'm starting to suspect the needles, so carby kit x 2 here we come. Though worth replacing both plugs first), laundry, just ... stuff. Not that I don't enjoy the 'Crack, but sometimes you need to put it away completely for a dew days. And work is about to get hell busy - billed 50 hours last week, and that's looking like a warmup. Lie back and think of the money ....
(Edit: Ah. Wagging its tail behind it, _Big Science_ surfaces. Please send Babydoll, guns and money!)
I dunno. Lots of thoughts, not much to say, really. How was your weekend?
