This is why things get dropped in the cracks. You can be documenting everything, but if you're talking different languages, it ain't ever going to help.

To me, "Template" has a very specific meaning. You can give me a mockup if you'd like, and I can reverse engineer a template from it. Or you can just give me a template, and I can convert it to a technical template in whatever language is easiest for me.

But this english word "template"? It means something. I've *done* data reporting. I know damn well you have too. And when you say "It just needs to have size, author, and date", I know damn well that's not what you mean, because not only do you also want a summary line, but since it's a customer facing report, you want a particular shade of green.

Which is why, rather than asking you what information you want, I asked, specifically, for a template. And it's why I looked puzzled and disagreed when you said you'd given me a template, because all you'd given me was "It needs size, date and author.". And if I dump size, author and date, in plain text, from my logs, you're going to bitch and moan about how unprofessional it looks.

Hell, handbasket. The inability to speak the same actual language is merely the grease on the rails.
