This is more idle speculation. MY line manager reads my LJ - I should start by stressing that I'm not looking for another job just yet. The software industry is all the same - I'd be swapping this set of tediums for another set, just as bad, so fuck it - there are upsides to where I am, and the temptation to go somewhere New! and Exciting! just isn't enough.
But.
If I weren't a computer programmer, what should I be? I'm not, necessarily, looking for serious suggestions, just things to provoke thought, or laughter. What should I do with my life, if I weren't a geek?
Hardware counts - as I said today, I don't get paid to do hardware, so "evil roboticist" or "Dr CyberMoreau" are valid suggestions, except that I've already thought of them.
Rackstar Game Designer is right up there, too, and I must get off my slack arse and work towards it....
