... bass player, my favourite song would be: Suzanne Vega, _Blood Makes Noise_. Not sure it'd maintain long term interest, but it's this funky little riff, that gives rock-solid grounding (and contrast) to a nifty little track.

... acoustic guitar player, my favourite song would be: Ani diFranco, "Little Plastic Castle". There's lots of Leonard Cohen/Janis Ian/hippy folk stuff that's nicely ornate and well crafted, but LPC has it all - solo folky picking, a nice chord progression, and then a rocking Ska bit. And Ani. Mmmmm, Ani.

... electric guitar player, my favourite song would be: Not Billy Bragg, oddly enough. The Church, "Ungarded Moment" [sic. Why is it spelt that way on every MP3 id tag I've ever seen? Is it that way on the album, or is CDDB tainted?]. Then pretty much anything by Billy.

... drummer, my favourite song would be: Violent Femmes, "36-24-36"
We forget, someties, that behind all the weirdness, the Femmes were a kickarse punk band. Mmmm, old Femmes. Actually, there's probably a Joe Jackson number that'd sneak in above that, but I have no JJ here at work.

That's this weeks list - feel free to add your own :)

Someone start me a band, eh?
