So, I want you to make my girlfriend a happy woman.

There's a big chunk of potentially productive shed space currently taken up with stuff that used to be important to me. Somewhere in the pile is:
An Alphastation (266, I think, with an upgrade CPU kicking around somewhere) running NETBSD.
An Ultra 1, possibly running Solaris (Or SunOS. Don't ask me, I don't know the difference, nor do I want to. It's running something, though)
2 SS5s (I think. Pizzaboxes). Probably not running anything, but possibly in a working state.
2 RISC Acorns (one working, one with dodgy firmware)
2 SGI Indys (at least one of which is working and running IRIX something)
Some Mac stuff. Possibly a working 7220. Possibly an LC. I dunno, man, it wasn't me.

Assorted monitors, keyboards, and mice for some of the above.
Random other crap.

Come take it away, so I can fill the space with useless bits of broken motorcycle instead, eh?

I was thinking of instituting a rule that if you took something that works, you had to take something that doesn't as well, but that involves checking what works. Just assume it's all broken and take 3 times as much for spares. Or assume it all works and take 3 times as much to sell on Ebay. Whatever.

Well, kinda. Actually, the shed is my domain, very deliberately, so she probably doesn't care what I do with the space, so long as the crap isn't in the house. But I figured this way I'd get a better response. ;P

Oh, and about the wardrobe - just leave it with us. Nathan might want it, we might want it, but either way, it's still vastly easier for us to ring Vinnies if no-one wants it, since we know when we'll be home. So you may forget about it with a clear conscience.

You guys are too good for me. Thank you :)

We must get together and eat curry soon!

Good luck clearing out your shed - I hope you get loving homes for all your bits and pieces.

If the Alphastation will run Tru64 or OpenVMS, I'll take it away.

You may wish to keep the RAM out of the Ultra-1 if you plan on getting another UltraSPARC box in the future - it should be fine for Ultra-1, Ultra-2, E250 and E450 boxen.

I'm happy to take the Indys, but not their monitors ;)

And yet, no-one will know if it runs Tru64 or OpenVMS until you come get it and attempt the install. Dilemmas of the modern age!

Longi might know.

Oh, wait. Yes, I can confidently state that it will run Tru64 and/or OpenVMS, though if it subsequnetly fails to do so at your house, that's not my problem. Come pick it up!

HTH, HAND!

Fine. Put my name on it, it can fail to do whatever it likes once happily sitting in a work machineroom. Haha! Same for the Indys.

Ben might want the Ultra-1, btw - he was looking to learn Solaris ages back.

No worries. That's a nice chunk of it gone - I'll root out the CPU upgrade for you too.

No monitors? And yay for moving crap hardware from teh shed to Ben's room.

Actually, do you have any 16VDC power supplies (wallwarts, like for laptops/modems/whatever) lying around? I could happily take one of those off your hands in return, but only if it's of no use to you.

If you'd like, I could take your girlfriend off your hands for one night of the week. Though I dunno how she'd take that, or if my taking her would end up making *you* happy.

And by take her off your hands, I mean let her loose on the guys at sword training. Though I can't recall if she said she was interested or if she said she'd give it a pass.
